LEGAL BACKGROUND

The privacy policy of ACTA SILVATICA & LIGNARIA HUNGARICA journal is based on the following legal background:

  • Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons regarding the processing of personal data and the free movement of such data, and repealing Regulation (EC) No 95/46/EC (GDPR).
  • Act CXII of 2011 on the Right to Informational Self-Determination and Freedom of Information (Infotv.)
  • Act V of 2013 on the Civil Code.
  • Act CXXX of 2016 on the Code of Civil Procedure.

The University of Sopron Publisher processes data lawfully, fairly, and transparently. It does not use or may not use personal data provided for purposes other than those described in this statement. The University of Sopron Publisher only processes the data that data subjects provide via voluntary consent or otherwise lawfully made known to the Publisher and does not disclose such data to third parties under any circumstances except when required by law. The transfer of personal data must follow the relevant legal provisions to this effect or with data subject consent to the extent specified therein.

 

THE PURPOSE OF DATA MANAGEMENT

The University of Sopron Publisher processes personal data to publish the ACTA SILVATICA & LIGNARIA HUNGARICA journal and operate its website.

 

THE DATA MANAGEMENT PROCESS, PERSONAL DATA CATEGORIES, AND PROCESSING DURATION

Data of the authors and partners involved in the publication of the journal are published by the University of Sopron Publisher, 9400 Sopron, Bajcsy-Zsilinszky u. 4. [aslh@uni-sopron.hu]. The publisher only processes personal data that are indispensable for the processing and are suitable for achieving that purpose, and only to the extent and duration strictly necessary for processing purposes. During the processing, it shall ensure the confidentiality of the personal data processed and their protection from unauthorized persons under the provisions of Article 32 of the GDPR, as follows:

  • The Publisher ensures the continued confidentiality, integrity, availability, and resilience of the systems and services used to process personal data.
  • In the event of a physical or technical incident, the Publisher promptly ensures the ability to restore access to and availability of personal data.
  • The Publisher regularly tests and evaluates the effectiveness of the technical and organizational measures taken to ensure data processing security.
  • The Publisher shall ensure that natural persons under its authority with access to personal data are only allowed to process data following the instructions of the controllers unless required to do otherwise by Union or Member State law. Data controllers shall only grant access to natural persons if they have read, acknowledge, and accept this Data Protection Statement in writing.

 

DATA PROCESSING CONCERNING AUTHORS

Manuscripts can be freely submitted for publication to the ACTA SILVATICA & LIGNARIA HUNGARICA journal. To submit a manuscript, please send an email to aslh@uni-sopron.hu and provide the following information:

  • name (first and last name),
  • country,
  • email address,
  • phone number,
  • workplace details (name and address),
  • title,
  • ORCID identifier.

Those submitting a manuscript must consent to the University of Sopron processing and disclosing their personal data. Manuscripts are not published without this consent. Personal data will then be made public via the Internet when the editorial office accepts a manuscript for publication. The archived issues of the journal are available free of charge at https://journal.uni-sopron.hu/index.php/aslh/issue/archive, entailing that authors’ details provided in the published papers will be made public. In addition, the authors’ data of published manuscripts will be made available to accepted providers in the scientific community that index and share scientific publications (such as MTMT, MTA REAL and REAL-J databases, National Széchényi Library, MATARKA, CrossRef, ORCiD, etc.). Some of these services operate outside the European Union. The University of Sopron cannot be held responsible for the privacy practices of such non-EU services. The University of Sopron will cease transferring the data if it detects a problem; however, the data subject should note that the publication and the data will still be accessible via the Internet. Data processing duration: author data will be kept in the journal archives indefinitely. Authors have the right to withdraw consent at any time. Consent withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of the processing based on consent before its withdrawal. Authors may withdraw their consent by sending an email to the Data Controller.

 

THE RIGHTS OF THE DATA SUBJECT REGARDING DATA PROCESSING

Data subjects may request information about personal data processing, access to, rectification, modification, erasure, restriction, or deletion of personal data by submitting a written request to the following email address: adatvedelem@uni-sopron.hu. At the request of the data subject, the controller shall provide information on the data processed, the purposes, legal basis, and duration of the processing, the name, address (registered office), and data processor activities related to the processing, the persons who receive or have received the data, and the purposes for which the data are processed. The controller shall provide the information in writing within the shortest possible time from the request date but no later than 25 days. The controller shall erase personal data for the following reasons: the processing is unlawful, the data subject requests it, the purpose of the processing has ceased, the statutory time limit for storing the data has expired, or the erasure of the data has been ordered by law, an EU act, the Authorities, or a court. In the above cases, the controller shall take reasonable steps – including technical measures considering the available technology and the cost of implementation – to inform the controllers processing the data that the data subject has requested the deletion of the links to or copies of the personal data in question.
