Absztrakt

Digitalisation is transforming businesses at their core, enabling new pathways for enhancing operational efficiency and redefining value cre-ation strategies. The book Accelerating Digitalization – Chancen der Digi-talisierung erkennen und nutzen by Proff et al. (2020) provides a comprehen-sive analysis of digital transformation processes in companies. At its core is the Digital Maturity Index (DMI), an empirically based tool for assessing di-gital maturity. Building on transaction cost theory and the dynamic capabili-ties approach, the authors show how efficiency gains and competitive ad-vantages can be achieved through digital technologies. In addition, compara-tive literature by Appelfeller & Feldmann (2018) and Becker et al. (2018) is used to examine different perspectives on digital transformation, business models, and implementation strategies. Proff et al. (2020) combine theoreti-cal concepts with practical recommendations. The chapters on platform stra-tegies, digital capabilities, the DMI, and digital accelerators offer structured insights into the potential of data-driven value creation. The book is aimed at both academics and business decision-makers.
